I don’t know why but I easily get stuck in a rut with places to eat. I rarely seem to venture and try something new, I much prefer to stick to what I already know and enjoy. Something I am trying to do more is to try new places, there are still tons of places on my list to visit but I am starting to visit new restaurants.
Byron – Canterbury, Kent
If you haven’t heard of Byron before, it is an American inspired diner specialising in hamburgers. I was out shopping a couple of weeks ago and decided to go to Byron for lunch. It wasn’t planned and we had just walked past. I think I remember seeing it in Birmingham last year but it was really busy. Now I understand why! I personally would say the food was better than Five Guys, I found theirs to be a bit too greasy. Byron seemed to be more of a restaurant quality than just fast food. My local Byron, which is located in Canterbury, has a distinct industrial diner theme.
Byron Menu
As I am sure you can imagine the menu consists of hamburgers, chicken burgers, salads and sides. I chose the Byron Burger with Fries and a Salted Caramel Milkshake. I found the style very similar to Shake Shack, but I would say the burgers at Byron are bigger.
Service & Prices
The staff were really friendly and the food didn’t take too long to come out after we ordered it. The prices are in line with what you would pay for at a restaurant. If you are looking for a quick, cheap lunch I would save this for a day when you want a nicer meal or are going out for dinner.
This is a small step to leaving my comfort zone, but I am getting there slowly. Do you struggle to try new things?

I have been to byron a few times and loved it! their milkshakes are amazing! I often try new things. It’s rather exciting but I understand it might be scary sometimes! xx corinne
I am just worried I will go somewhere and end up really HANGRY and hate the meal I have ordered. For example, Wagamamas I wouldn’t know where to start! xx
Byron is definitely one of my favourites, because I love a good burger! I’m personally a big fan of Gourmet Burger Kitchen too, which is very similar but almost, if not, more tasty.. ?
