Brands Hatch | Truck Racing & Fireworks

I went to Brands Hatch to watch racing and fireworks on Sunday. Brands Hatch is a race circuit based in Kent, UK. Throughout the year they hold lots of different events and races.  I have watched racing at Brands Hatch before but not this particular event. We decided to go here as an alternative to the Leeds Castle fireworks, if you live in Kent you will probably be familiar.

Brands Hatch Truck Racing & Fireworks

Events ran from 09.15 and you could enter the grounds from 8 am. Brands Hatch is about an hour away from where I live and we arrived at 09.30. There were lots of rides and stalls on the grounds and extra events, great if you brought children.For the majority of the day, we watched the racing, we chose to purchase seats with our tickets. If you don’t purchase seats I strongly suggest arriving early and bringing chairs or something to sit on and finding a good position on the track.

Around 1700 o’clock there was a truck parade, in which all the trucks at the show went onto the circuit. There were so many that they filled up the track. Once they were all on the track they drove around the circuit again at which point it was dark and they began the fireworks. I really enjoyed the fireworks and they had put the show together nicely. Overall, I am not sure if I prefer Brands Hatch or Leeds Castle fireworks. Both events have different atmospheres, when I have been to Leeds Castle, we only went for the evening rather than all day events at Brands Hatch. Also, Leeds Castle fireworks had music and light effects. The downside to Leeds Castle is you need to book in advance to guarantee entry and you risk getting stuck in the mud in some of the park areas, yes this happened to us.
