Starting a new project and launching your own content on a platform is daunting. You worry about what people will think, will people like your content? Will anyone actually view or gain anything from it? In 2019, you are starting amongst tons of people that are already established in the digital space. So is it worth starting a Blog or Youtube channel in 2019?
Should you start a Blog or Youtube channel in 2019?
First of all, let’s clear up a common misconception about content creators. IT IS NOT EASY. Sure, some people will make a few videos and go viral but in reality, that’s unlikely to happen. You are going to have to think about your strategy. This is the part that’s key, if you are going to launch on a platform this year, your strategy is going to be what helps you build traction.
Planning a strategy for your content
Before you launch or even get started with creating your content. You must establish what you are going to be creating and most importantly what makes you different to everyone else? What are you bringing to the digital space? If you want to build a community, you need to offer something that someone else doesn’t. This doesn’t have to be huge, don’t get caught up on trying to find a big gap in the market – chances are you will struggle to find one. You just need to find something that will make your content different to anyone else. Once you have decided, create a publishing schedule for yourself and stick to it. The more consistent you are, the better!
Do it because you LOVE it
Passion really shines through in people’s content, you can tell if they have genuinely enjoyed creating it. This is mostly how people end up earning money, doing the job they love. It’s because they were doing it for a long time before, making no money and just doing it because they enjoyed it.
Hard work pays off…
At the beginning of your journey, you need to accept that you may be making your content for a long time before earning any money back from it. Therefore, you must be happy with devoting hours to your platform without getting back monetary reward. On the plus side, if you continue and never give up, you never know where it could take you. Get involved in the community, talk to those who view your content and HAVE FUN!
