How I Started My Blog
For a long time I have been reading other people’s blogs and watching YouTube channels. I have always thought why not make my own? We all have different interests and opinions, why not use a blog to create a voice to help others. Why a blog in particular? I grew up using websites like piczo, bebo & myspace. During this time I really loved designing my own graphics, choosing what content I wanted on my website and I started to learn HTML.
Before launching this blog at the beginning of 2017, I had one a few years ago on blogger. I didn’t have a clear vision with what I wanted to achieve from it. Plus I didn’t understand all the methods in order to grow my blog. At the beginning of this year I launched this site on blogger. I started by getting to terms with learning basic functions and increasing post frequency. After a little while I realised how much I was enjoying it and decided the next step was to buy a domain and also migrated my blog to wordpress.org. I will be writing a post on this in the near future!

Two pieces of advice for new bloggers
- Do what you love. Don’t worry about choosing a niche. I feel that if you leave your blog open to different topics you are less likely to get bored or lose inspiration. After a while you may find that you only want to talk about a specific topic and that’s fine. The more I researched before starting a blog, the more I saw people recommending you to find a niche and I found this made me hesitate creating one. My best advice would be to get started and begin building your blog. You are going to evolve as you go along anyway you may as well just start now. You never know where your blog will take you or what topics you will find to write about in future.
- Get involved on social media. When you first start blogging you spend most of your time creating content and making your blog look how you want it to. Don’t forget to get yourself involved on social media. You will meet like-minded bloggers who can help you grow your blog, not just in terms of traffic but improving the look of your blog and content. The whole point in writing a blog is to put it out there for people to read and take something away from the content you write. To achieve this you need to get your blogs name out there and essentially advertise your content. Twitter is my favourite platform, you can get involved in blogger chats and blog comment swaps. The blogging community is extremely welcoming and inclusive, especially if you are new to blogging.

No problem at all!! I loved reading your answers xx
Social media is so important when it comes to blogging. I really want to try and use twitter more as it is a great way to meet new bloggers. I feel like sometimes I get so distracted by social media though, especially instagram. It’s so hard to balance social media and the other aspects of blogging!
