Weekend in Brighton | April 2018

May 11, 2018 in travel

Fancy a short break away? Carry on reading, this is exactly what I did in April.

I visited Brighton last month with my boyfriend. We made a very last minute decision to book a hotel and drive there for the weekend. I am someone who really enjoys a spur of the moment idea, I think it makes it more exciting. One night after work I got home and started looking for hotels. I had visited Brighton before but only in the main areas. I found a hotel in the marina called Malmaison, it looked really nice and also had free parking which was a bonus.

We arrived Friday evening and checked into the hotel. We were really impressed with it, the room was a perfect size and it had a gorgeous bathroom. The location was great as there are loads of restaurants/bars in the marina. We knew the next day we would drive down and spend the day at the pier. Once settled into our room, we headed out to the marina. We knew we wanted some drinks as well as food so we went to The West Quay which is run by Wetherspoons.

The next day we drove down and parked closer to the pier but before we left the marina we went for a coffee and then visited Globalls, which is a glow in the dark mini golf course. If you enjoy mini golf this was a really fun way to play. The whole course is full of theming and they have music on, we really liked it.

It turned out to be a really sunny day so we spent the entire afternoon walking around the pier and we sat on the beach. If you haven’t been to Brighton’s pier before there are lots of little food stalls, rides and arcades. We found a bar and sat in there for a few hours, taking in the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend visiting if you haven’t been before. I will be visiting again in future, it’s the perfect getaway for a change of scenery and there are lots of things to do in Brighton.

Have you visited Brighton before? What places would you recommend visiting?
