HAYLEYXMARTIN - TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY 12HR BLUSH & CREAMY MATTE LIP PAINT

Back in March I went to New York and of course I had to go into Sephora. I visited the store that is in Times Square, it was pretty busy as expected but I still managed to fight through and grab a couple of things. You can see the whole haul here. The items I am reviewing today were actually free samples. On this visit to Sephora I managed to come away with four free products. Sephora seriously needs to open in the UK! These Tarte products come in a set that you receive if you sign up to Sephora Beauty Insider reward scheme. This set in particular is gifted to you in the month of your birthday. I’m not sure why I was able to receive it as my birthday is in May, but I won’t turn away free makeup!

HAYLEYXMARTIN - TARTE LIPPAINT BIRTHDAY SUIT & BLUSH PAAARTY

Tarte is a brand I have seen alot about through YouTube, the products always get good reviews. Tarte is fairly difficult to get hold of in the UK, it is not sold in alot of stores – if any? The Tarte website does allow shipping to the UK and I believe you can also order products through QVC.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Blush – Paaarty

I would describe the colour of this blush as a ‘muted pink’. It is a really nice colour without being over the top or too bright. You can apply this lightly for a little bit of colour or build up the colour for a night time, more dramatic look . I found that this applied really smoothly, sometimes I find blushes can be a little patchy. But this applies evenly and blended in really nicely. I can’t say that I have purposely tested the claims of this being a 12hr blush. But at the same time I did not notice wanting to reapply the product. I would definitely consider repurchasing this and trying some other colours.

Tarte individual blushes are £23. Definitely a high end cosmetic brand, when spending this much on a single item it is great to be able to try a sample first. I believe the product is worth is amount. It is very long lasting as you do not need alot of product to achieve a light flush of colour. I have unfortunately managed to break mine, but this hasn’t affected my use of the product. It is possible to reset broken powder products, so I may have to give this a try. Let me know in a comment if you have tried resetting a broken powder.

HAYLEYXMARTIN - TARTE LIP PAINT BIRTHDAY SUIT - BLUSH PAAARTY

Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint – Birthday Suit

Out of the two products in this set, I was most excited to try this one. I am not a big fan of wearing lip products, I have no idea why. I hate the idea of having to retouch and the product smudging when eating or drinking. Maybe I have never found a lip product that I love the colour of. For me, this is the perfect nude, slightly darker than my lip colour without obviously looking like I am wearing a lip product. The colour looks a little darker in the picture than it looks in real life. The product applies really nicely, it is a fairly thick consistency, so I always wipe excess of the brush as I open the tube. It is really creamy and does not dry out your lips, it is fast drying into a matte finish.

Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paints are £15 for 6ML. As a comparison the NYX soft matte lip creams are £6 for 8ML. I have been looking at the NYX lip creams for a while but cant decide on my colour, as I am so picky with lip products. If you have tried both I am very interested to hear your opinion on the difference in the formulas. I would most likely explore some cheaper options before deciding on purchasing one of these. I find a big problem with lip products is they look different on everyone, so you can never guarantee what the colour will look like on you.

HAYLEYXMARTIN - TARTE SWATCHES - BLUSH & LIP PAINT

Trying these products have really been a positive first experience of Tarte products. For my budget they are definitely a splurge treat item. Although, I feel this can be justified in how long the product will last. I also prefer to have a small makeup collection of items that I really love than keep lots and lots of multiple products that I will never use. I will be keeping my eye out for any palettes that go on sale in which I would be able to try more from the Tarte range.

I love both the blush and the lip paint! I’m not usually a fan of lip products either, but I have the Tarte in Birthday Suit and I love it! I also have the Nyx lip cream in a nude shade, but I find that one doesn’t stay on nearly as long. I’m trying to make my tarte products last as long as possible because you’re right, they are pricey!

Ooo okay, glad you have an opinion on both of the products. So you could technically end up spending the same with NYX because it doesn’t last as long. I wish I could just buy a load of colours of the Tarte Lip Paint – If only!!! xx

The liquid lipstick looks so pretty, though I think it would be too light for my skin tone. Definitely the blush is too light for me as well. I might have to get the other Sephora birthday option (Caudalie skincare products).

Oooo I just looked up the Caudalie set! You get a radiance serum and a moisturiser, great alternative if you aren’t keen on the Tarte products! xx

It’s amazing how they give you decent sized samples so you can get a good idea of the product! They really do need to bring Sephora over here. I haven’t tried much from Tarte, apart from a mascara, but I love the look of the lip paint xx

They really do need to bring Sephora here! I can’t understand why it isn’t. I have googled and some people are saying there isn’t a market for them as we have boots, superdrug and department stores but the US have department stores and ULTA, target etc xx
