HAYLEYXMARTIN | Review | The Body Shop Shower Gels & Soaps + Brand Wishlist

I don’t know why but, The Body Shop is a brand I never usually buy from. When I first got into buying skincare regimes, I tried a couple of their ranges. Other than that, I haven’t really ventured into what they have to offer. Back in May, I received eight products for my birthday from family:

Shea Soap & Shower Cream*
Moringa Soap & Shower Gel*
British Rose Soap & Shower Gel*
Pink Grapefruit Soap & Shower Gel*

I love these kinds of presents as I receive scents that I probably wouldn’t have purchased myself. But was actually really surprised and have found some new favourites. The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging, the products look really sleek. The next thing I was really impressed with was the scents. They are all very strong scents that are true to their description. I already knew about The Body Shop Body Butters and how good they are, so I figured these would be similar in quality.

When purchasing shower gels I tend to lean towards moisturising and as natural as possible. I have repurchased the Sanex brand shower gels alot. The only downside with these, is they smell nice, but not of anything specific. It is nice to have a treat sometimes and use something a little bit special. I found all of these gels to be moisturising and didn’t leave my skin feeling like it had any product on. What I loved most was how long you can smell the scents for on your skin. This was just the shower gel/soap alone, you could intensify it by applying the matching moisturiser.

The Body Shop Prices vs Lush

Most of the shower gels are £5 for 250ml and the soaps begin at £2 for 100g. I feel these prices are really good for great quality products with really nice scents. As a comparison, Lush 250g shower gels start at £8.50 and their soaps range from £3.90 to £9.30 for 120g. The other upside is how long these have lasted me, bearing in mind I shower mostly. At the moment I still have two shower gels left and three of the soaps. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for these once I have run out. The Body Shop have sales every now and then so I may have to stock up the next time one is on!

The Body Shop – My Wishlist

I feel The Body Shop have really stepped up their product range this year. Their latest products have been up to date with the latest trends and I keep seeing more and more people talking about them. Here are some of the items that have caught my eye and I will be trying in future.

I’ve tried a new things from The Body Shop and would like to try more of their stuff. I like their Essential oils that come out near Christmas. It’s been awhile since I tried their shower gels or lotions. http://www.mrsqbeauty.com
