Keeping control of my personal finances is something that comes naturally to me. I know what is coming into my account and what will be leaving. Additionally, I always ensure I allocate a certain amount for savings. I understand this does not come naturally for everyone. I would like to help and provide insight for those that would like it.
Personal Budget Calculator
When looking online for personal budget spreadsheets and planners, I find they look very boring and do not entice you to want to use them. My personal budget calculator is simple and easy to use. Don’t worry if you aren’t familiar with excel – the calculation formulas are included.
All you need to do is fill in each section and add appropriate titles. Using this you are able to see your income and expenditure and what you have left. Once you have this figure you can work out what you are going to do with your left over amount. Whether you have a long term savings goal or saving for a particular item, using my spreadsheet you can successfully devise a strategy to achieve your goal.
Savings vs. Expenses Calculator
On the second tab of my personal budget calculator you will find a separate spreadsheet. This one is slightly different and calculates how many months you can essentially live off your savings. I used this to calculate how long my savings would last when I quit my job. You can read my related posts on this here.
