I can’t believe it’s August already! Where has this year gone? You may know that last month I set myself the challenge of blogging everyday. I was consistent for about two weeks and then found it difficult to keep up. I am happy with what I achieved last month, 24 out of 31 days is not bad at all!
Blogging that often would not have been possible for me without a planner. At the start of the month I filled my blog planner with what post I would do on each day. Some of these changed, I swapped posts and moved some for new ideas when I wanted to. Having ideas already in place, I didn’t spend any time wondering what to write about. I will continue to plan
I feel planning actually gives me flexibility. If I know what I am going to be writing about, I can then take my images at anytime before the post is scheduled to be published. Completing things in advance, for example, photography allows for days where you may not feel like doing it or if the weather isn’t so great. When my posts are last minute and I feel I have to rush my photography and writing is when blogging becomes more of a chore than it is fun. To avoid that happening I like to have lots of images saved and then I can choose which post to do depending on how much time I have to write it. Also, having a plan means if your scheduled post isn’t quite ready, you may have something in your planner that wont take as long to write, so you can swap them. It isn’t worth rushing something and being disappointed with it the outcome.

This is a very simple template, feel free to alter it if you wish. If you just need somewhere to jot down posts, this is perfect. If you need more structure for your planning I recommend adding something like this to help you keep track of what you have done and what is left to do:

Hopefully this helps you eliminate any cases of ‘bloggers block’ or just pure procrastination.
