For quite some time I knew I wasn’t happy within my job. Before making the final decision to resign I thought about the following points in great depth. If you are going to resign, I suggest calculating all of your expenses first and how long you are able to live off your savings.
Things I would do whilst unemployed
When not working, I am someone who can easily get bored and restless. For this reason I needed a clear plan and a couple of goals for what I want to achieve. A mix of goals including personal project/hobbies and career related – such as taking a course or generally researching different industries. However, remember to give yourself a break at the same time.

A back up plan
Create a back up plan. I have an idea in my head of what I am going to do if my current plan doesn’t work out how I want it to. I have decided that I may need to widen my job search in order to find quicker. In the meantime I know I have items that I could possibly sell to make extra income.
Resigning from your job is a very nerve-wracking thing to do, following the steps above will help to you remain calm and collected with clear goals for you to work towards.

I remember leaving my part time job almost two years ago to focus on college and although I had a lot less money I was so much happier and now found a retail job that I much prefer. I wish you all the best on your break! x
